Bayou Books & Beans offers curated mystery book boxes, books, coffee, New Orleans-inspired gifts, merchandise, and related products.

Because many of our products are mystery or curated items, the contents of each box may vary. Product photos are for illustrative purposes only and represent examples of items that may be included.

We reserve the right to substitute items of equal or greater value when necessary due to availability.

Book Condition & Publisher Remainder Policy

At Bayou Books & Beans, we proudly offer a unique selection of books at exceptional prices. Many of our titles are new, unread books obtained from publishers' overstock, excess inventory, and special closeout purchases.

As part of the publishing industry's remainder program, some books may have a small black line, dot, or other discreet mark on the edge of the pages. This mark simply identifies the book as a non-returnable publisher's remainder and prevents it from being returned to the publisher for additional credit. It does not affect the readability or enjoyment of the book.

Because many of these books come from publishers' overstock or retail returns, you may occasionally notice:

• A small black mark on the page edges
• Light shelf wear from storage or shipping
• Retail price stickers or sticker residue
• Minor cosmetic imperfections to the cover or dust jacket

These cosmetic characteristics do not impact the content of the book, and every book is inspected to ensure it is in good, readable condition before being offered for sale.

These publisher remainder books allow us to pass along significant savings while offering a wide variety of quality titles at affordable prices.

If a book has condition issues beyond normal remainder markings or light shelf wear, it will be clearly noted in the product description.

NEW RELEASE TITLES will not have these marks and are directly from the publishing house.  They have never been released to the public prior to us purchasing them. They will arrive to your door drop shipped from the publishing house.  

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD).

Payment is due at the time of purchase. We accept major payment methods available through our website checkout platform.

We reserve the right to modify prices at any time without prior notice.

4. Shipping

We currently ship within the United States unless otherwise specified.

Shipping times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Bayou Books & Beans is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather events, holidays, or circumstances beyond our control.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information. Additional shipping charges may apply if orders are returned due to incorrect addresses.

5. Returns & Refunds

Due to the curated and mystery nature of our products, all sales are final unless an item arrives damaged or defective.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@bayoubooksandbeans.com and include:

• Your order number
• Photos of the damaged item(s)
• A description of the issue

Approved claims may be eligible for replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.

6. Subscription Boxes (If Applicable)

If you enroll in a subscription service:

• Subscriptions automatically renew until canceled.
• You may cancel future renewals at any time before your next billing date.
• No refunds will be issued for boxes already processed or shipped.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including logos, branding, images, graphics, product descriptions, text, and designs, is the property of Bayou Books & Beans and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without written permission.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the website for unlawful purposes.
